Please introduce yourself and brand to our readers:
Hello! I am Chantel Willimas and I am a Lifestyle Blogger and Creative Empowerment Coach. I am also the owner of The Fashion Design, LLC. My goal is to teach others to tap into their creative skills and live life more purposefully.
I began my journey as a Creative Writer in which later turned into a lifestyle blog, Live Creatively, which focuses on mental health and life inspiration! Writing has always been a passion and great skill of mine; being able to further delve into that after finishing college pushed me into walking into my purpose.
Currently, I work in healthcare full time, specifically in Pharmacy. I enjoy being multi-passionate. However, by no means do I treat my business as a side hustle-this thang is a lifestyle! Life is about balance and as a Creative, I have mastered that well!
What 2 professional tips would you share with readers who desire to be successful in your industry? Research is key as a creative or in any industry. In order for you to showcase your skill and talent in the best way possible, you must do your research and know who your competitors are. It is also necessary not to view competitors as a negative thing; think of them as your peers. Everyone has room to succeed and elevate.
Time management is also essential. So many Creatives I have spoken with are burdened with the idea they don't have the time to do what they love. Learning effective ways to put yourself first, even if it is just 30 minutes a day, can create healthy habits for transformation.
If you could give yourself one piece of advice 10 years ago, what would that be? The advice I'd give myself to Chantel 10 years ago is enjoying the moment and not overthink.
The Creative's VMA 3 Day Online Course positions creatives to overcome that overthinking and work with what is in front of them. Sometimes we get so caught up in what our future holds that our vision gets blurred to where we may not pay attention to what is right in front of us. I remind myself of this often expressing gratitude of where you are now, no matter how difficult the time maybe.
What is next for you in 2019 and how can readers connect with you online? I have some ah-mazing things happening in 2019! I am currently finishing up my graduate degree to obtain my MBA, self-publishing my FIRST book for Creatives, becoming a contributing writer for an awesome anthology releasing in August for Bosses, and launching an exciting group program for Creatives who are ready to position themselves to level up in their work!
