So last week I announced that I was nominated be recognized as one of Houston’s Top 40 to watch. Wow, what an amazing opportunity. I made my way down to downtown Houston on Saturday evening with the team to check it out, and all I could think about the entire way there was how much of a dream come true this was. Since I launched my first business a few years ago, it’s been a goal of mine to get products and services out across the world. As a woman of faith to be recognized with such prestige honoree’s it’s a dream come true. I want to personally thank the entire i10 Media Group for this fabulous evening of all things phenomenal.
At the event, we laughed, had lots of time to take pictures and talked about what it’s like to be a boss and entrepreneur. I wanted to share secrets on how to maintain your style and business while managing a home and family. You know as young entrepreneurs, we can think that “family life” is for when we are old and will slow us down from our destiny. I’ve learned from watching people I admire and respect, you can have it all and then some. If you plan for your purpose, you can obtain your dream life, live with a popping purpose, and become a dream driver. I’m so excited to share with you the my thoughts and some future ideas I have for my growing empire.
Time to Get Dressed
Well I consider myself stylish in my own way. The week began with me searching every part of my closet to see what I would wear. Whelp, when that journey was over we headed over to the Galleria Mall in Houston, Texas. I eagerly fast tracked it to all my favorite stores and boutiques to find the “outfit”.
We landed in some of my favorite stores, from Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Sephora, and of course J. Crew. At least I was able to get a quick work out, walking briskly through each store.
After all was said and done I wore something from my closet. Go Figure! My husband is so sweet, he was thrilled about that.
One of my major tips for any boss… Always stay prepared! The people that are prepared always know how to show up and show out.
The Crew
I was so excited to see some great friends at this event. It is amazing how we are all so busy with our families, personal endeavors, and businesses. But when it is time to show up… we celebrate each other, laugh, take selfies, and catch up on what’s going on. I truly appreciate these great relationships.
My fantastic husband is my superman. We are celebrating our 10 years this year, the entire year. As I reflect from day one with this gentleman he has always pushed me to strive for excellence. But more importantly, to have fun while doing it. So this moment was a destiny moment for both of us. He is so special, and I love that about him.
A major tip for any CEO that own multiple companies… always maintain healthy relationships with those that have your back. I mean… the get it people! I have learned this process through my personal journey. But hang with those… that hang with you!
The Award
What a beautiful award. I have added it to my DBS office to sit with my inspirational eye candy on my bookshelves. It has always been one of my dreams to be recognized nationally for great work, content, style, and life-changing influence. As an entrepreneur you should always have a goal and or driving force behind what you do.
As an athlete I can think back to all the workouts, setbacks, stages, and major rewards of hard work and dedication. With that being said… this day was a pivotal moment for my brand and business. Why? Because there is a moment of solidarity that comes with recognition.
As a student of all things branding and business I always tell my coaching clients… “That’s great… but what’s next?” So on this day, I asked myself a personal question “what’s next, LaShanda!” They only answer I have today is… stay tuned!
As a woman of faith, I always believed it’s important to give God glory in everything that I do. So I want to take a few minutes to give God praise. Why… because this is a dream come true. As you know our business is founded on Luke 1:37 KJV, with God nothing shall be impossible. So this is one of the promises of my purpose. As we move by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, it is the supernatural favor of serving God. So we honor him for allowing us to a part of such an honorable platform.
